Saturdays at Sum Yi Tai

So why would I recommend this as a go to hangout chill spot ESPECIALLY on a Saturday weekend for drinks and tapas?~

Me spending effort in my dressing and makeup since it was the last few days before willy departed :(

Why here on a Saturday?

Happy hour here is from 5 pm to ALL NIGHT LONG. 

We are talking about 1-for-1 shooters, 10 dollar nett beers and 40 per asahi bucket nett till 1 am :O

Artfully crafted bar divided into three storeys and we were seated at the basement initially since their rooftop bar was a rare gem in the CBD area = fully booked.

Forgot to mention their tapas were 50% off as well when we were there. Cheap drinks and cheap snacks makes me bias.

King Prawn Wantons Tossed in Chili ($15)

This was the (only) favourite tapas dish among the three which was served up to standard. Not complaining since all of these dishes only cost us half the price.

Crispy Roast Pork with Spicy Salted Egg Yolk Dip ($12)

Can't really taste the salted egg yolk in the dip and the roast pork could have been done better. 

Golden Salted Egg Squid Tentacles ($15)

Near to tasteless dish which I'll never recommend or order ever. And the only one without the chef recommendation stamp among the three. Perhaps it was just a last order thing and busy Saturday night excuse. I would still head back to SYT for their cheap drinks and half priced tapas. Might or might not order the food.

Thumbs up for the atmosphere at the bar tho, here's my food featuring the classy timeless cd collection behind where I was seated.

Moved up to the rooftop bar once there were a table for us to enjoy another different kind of alfresco dining mood. Ordered more drinks there and it was a good night enjoying each other's company.
